Vampire Kisses

Jessica loves vampires. She’s wanted to be one ever since she was a little girl. She lived down the street from a lady who was her idle. One day the lady either moved or died. One way or another, Jessica wanted to find out what she had in that house! She tried and tried but couldn’t get in. So, she finally gave up and left it alone. The house was finally sold and Jessica wanted to find out who lived there. They only came out at night and did very strange things that portrayed vampires. So Jessica went out and tried to break in again. She succeeded but got caught by the butler. When she tried again, she met Alexander.

Jessica fell in love with Alexander after she got up the courage to ask him to the Winter Ball at her school. They were alike in every way and he was perfect for her. But, she still wanted to prove that he was a vampire. So she did and he got upset and offended by what she was doing. He denied that he was one; but Jessica knew he was! She didn’t see him for awhile and got worried that he would never talk to her again. So she went and found him. She embarrassed a boy that she hated, because he loved her and he wouldn’t admit it! And she got Alexander back to being her “dark lover”!

Alexander’s family finally put a for sale sign up after awhile and Jessica was very upset! But, before they moved, Alexander took Jessica up to his room and showed her all of his masterpieces! Paintings, Writing, everything! She absolutely loved it, and him! She didn’t want him to leave, but he had to. So they said their goodbyes and Alexander went back in the house. Later that night, Jessica was visited by a bat who she was sure was Alexander; only because he still wore the emblem around his neck that they each had an exact copy of! So that’s Alexander’s fault that he let her know his secret. But she never told anyone and hoped to see him again one day so he may turn her into one of him too.

My opinion on this book is that it’s one of the best books I’ve ever read! I loved ever minute of it and would recommend it to anyone! The author keeps you wondering what will happen next on every page! The author did  a spectacular job of giving you a visual image of the scene and the characters! I really loved this book when I read it and would like to continue reading books from this author because she did such a good job!

The Great Artist: Salvidor Dali

Salvador Dali was a great artist! His paintings and works were wonders all over the world! Dali was one of the greatest writers of his time! He has inspired young and new artists and has triggered the minds of young persons, such as myself, to create and do as they please with their masterpieces!

Salvador Dali was born on May 11, 1904 at 8:45 in the morning in his hometown of Figueres, Catalonia, Spain. He unfortunately dies in the same city at age 84 on January 23, 1989. From going from his home town, all the way around the world to many different cities, and back to Catalonia; Dali was still amazing as when he started. Dali’s nationality is Spanish. He was a painter, photographer, drawing, sculpting, and writing. Dali’s movement was Dada, Cubism, and Surrealism.

Dali’s brother died at age 7 in 1903 of a meningitis attack. Salvador Dali’s parents decided to name him Salvador because it has a special meaning. It means: ’destine to rescue and save painting from the mediocre catastrophes of modern art.’ Unfortunately, Dali’s mother, Felipa Domenech Ferre`s, died in February of 1921 of breast cancer; Dali was 16 years old. She encouraged her son’s artistic abilities while she was still with them. Along with her husband who did so too. Dali’s father was alive and well to see Dali’s rein as on of the greatest artists in the world at his time! His father, Salvador Dali I Cusi`, was a middle class lawyer and notary. His discipline was triggered by his wife. There was something that Dali thought that made him think differently from his parents. He thought that he was the reincarnation of his deceased brother. Dali once said, “…[ we] resembled each other like two drops of water, but we had different reflections. He was probably a first version of myself but conceived too much in the absolute.” Dali’s sister, Ana Maria, was three years younger than Dali. In 1949, she published a book about her brother called ‘Dali As Seen By His Sister. When Dali’s mother died, his father married his sister in law. This did not matter much to Savlador because he said that he had ‘great love and respect for his aunt’. In 1934, Dali married his first and one love, Gala. They had been together since 1929 and finally decided to marry! They were later remarried in a Catholic ceremony in 1958. Gala was born in Elena Ivanovna Diakonova. Gala had been married to a surrealist poet, Paul E’luard, before meeting Dali. In 1940, Gala and Salvador Dali moved to the U.S; where they lived for 8 years.

In 1922, Dali moved to Residencia de Estudiantes in Madrid and attracted much attention by wearing his own style. His style was that he wore long hair and sideburns, a coat, stockings, and knee breeches resembling someone from the 19th century. When he paited his Cubist paintings, he attracted more attention from the students. Unfortunately, Dali was expelled right before his final exams in 1926 because he said that no one in the staff was good enough to examine him!

Some of Dali’s famous painted masterpeices include his most remembered painting ever, The Persistance of Memory. There is also, Swans Reflecting Elephants form 1937, Galatea of the Shperes of 1952, and painted in 1954, Young Virgin Auto-Sodomized by the Horns of Her Own Chasity. Some of my favorites are The Horseman of Death, Tristan and Isolde, Sleep, which is on the front cover of the book Essential Dali` written by Kristen Bradbury, one of his simplest paintings, The Rose, and the one with the longest name ever, Dream Caused by the Flight of a Bee Around a Pomegranet, a Second Before Waking Up. All of Dali’s paintings were amazing! Also, there are very many more to say!

In 1925, Dalihad the first one-man show in Barcelona. Dali’s first one-man expostion was held in the city of Paris in 1929. In 1930 Dali went to Italy to get away from the Civil War in Spain. Also in 1930, Dali became an official surrealist in 1930. He was also a part of the surrealist expostion in 1938 in Paris, France. In 1939 he publishes his manifesto in New York and publishes his novel,Hidden Faces, in 1944. He started to have an intrest in nuclear physics in 1945. This surprised Dali because he had never thoguht of doing anything else in his life but making masterpeices and making all of his artwork become famous. He also worked with Alfred Hitchcock in this year on producing his dream sequences of his move ‘Spellbound’. He got back on track with his dream in 1946, when he drew some works for Walt Disney. Dali had some bad times too though. A man in1947, Max Ernst, won over Dali’s paiting in a contest organized by a cinematographic company. It was Dali’s ‘The Temptation os Saint Anothony’ painting that Ernst won over. That was a losing trime for Dali in his life. Dali might have been the way he was with people partially because of his military service, which he started when he was expelled from school and finished in 1927.

Dali was pretty much only inspired by what he had seen in his head. He looked into the back of his mind and found visions for his art. He tried his best to remember his dreams and then went to his easel and drew, painted, or just created what he had seen in his mind. He created masterpeices from his feelings and made some of his most famous works from absolutely nothing! He just started creating something, that turned out to be one of his best things ever! Dali’s art was most extraordinary for someone with his passion! Not many people are sure about where he got his creativity from; but they know that it was great! Therefor, making him known all over the world as one of the greatest artists of his time!

My thought on the way Dali was is that he was an amazing artist, author, creator, person. He did everything that he could to make himself reconized. He didn’t care what people said about him and just went with his dream, whatever it was. He is an idle to many upcoming young artists, like myself, and he may have a big impact on many creative minds.

Salvador Dali was a great man and a huge inspiration to many! I was happy to write this report about him because I know that there are so many people who idolize him. Dali has so much interesting history and amazing artwork. I have been inspired by this project and I can relate to Dali’s topic of weird arts.

Prom Night

I would give this move a high 7 or low 8 on a 1-10 scale. The teenage thriller wasn’t as scary as expected. Don’t get me wrong, it was a good movie, but it wasn’t as hair rising as I would like it to be. I did like it how people screamed in the theater when things popped out of dark places!

The name of the movie was Prom Night. The story line is a girl who experienced the murder of her mother while she hid under the bed in her brothers’ room. The killer had slaughtered Donna’s mother, brother and father before she ran from the house screaming. He was confined in a jail far away from Donna; but he escaped 3 years after that to come back for her. It’s Donna’s senior prom and she knows nothing about Richard Fenton escaping from jail, until her prom is almost over. He slaughters everyone is his path to get to her. She runs and runs from him, but she can’t outrun him. It’s only at the end of the movie that the scenes are the most intense!

The main character of the movie are Brittany Snow as Donna Keppel, Scott Porter as her boyfriend Scott, Dana Davis and Jessica Stroup as Donna’s best friends Lisa Hines and Claire. There’s also Claire and Lisa’s dates to prom and current boyfriends Michael and Ronnie Heflin, played by Kelly Blatz and Collins Pennie. Last, but very much not least, there’s Jonathan Schaech, also known as the blood thirsty killer and secret lover of Donna Keppel.

Most of the story took place in the hotel that the prom was held in. There were scenes in almost every part of the hotel. The main places were the ballroom, the rooms that the teenagers had bought for their stay there, the basement, and the hallways, elevators, and front lobby.

I like that the movie is very intense at parts and then it’s very sad at the same time. I don’t like that the movie wasn’t as scary as it should have been. But I still recommend that you watch the movie. It was very good!

New Moon

This is the second book of the Twilight series by Stephanie Meyer. Edward and Bella have been together for almost a year now and it’s Bella’s birthday. Edward invites her to his house for dinner, presents, visiting, and a full out party planned by his sister Alice. Leave it up to her to make everything ever so special! She goes all out for this surprise! So Bella goes to the house for the party and everything goes severely wrong!

As she tries to open her present from Edward and Alice, she cuts her finger on the wrapping paper. Five of her friends and the love of her life all regain the blood lust instantly! Everyone but Jasper, Edward’s ‘brother’ control themselves. Jasper tries to attack Bella; but Edward jumps on her and shields her from him. She instantly paralyzed by fear. As they fly across the room they hit the table that holds the presents, cake, and glass dishes and cups.

The plates and glasses fall on her and put a gash in her arm that drives Jasper crazy! Emmett, Rosalie and Esme, Edward’s brother, sister, who’s Emmett’s fiancé, and mother, get Jasper outside as fast as they can. While Carlisle, Edward’s father, gets ready to work on stitching Bella up, Edward carries her to the kitchen, and Alice gets Carlisle’s bag. The surgery goes over well, but after that Edward feels bad for reacting the way he did. The thirst got to him so bad, that he almost fed on the girl of his dreams!

He acts this way for a week or two, then Bella tells him they need to talk and to meet her after she goes to work. He says no. The next day he tells her that he will come to her house before she gets home and wait for her to return. He sticks to his word. He takes her into the forest and tells her that his whole family is gone and he stayed behind only to tell her they were leaving.

He gives her more information, kisses her forehead, tells her he will always love her, and leaves. Just like that. She searches for him in the forest in a panic; but it starts to get dark and Bella starts tripping over shrubbery on the forest floor. She loses her balance one time completely and stays there; curled up in a little ball. Her father sends a search party for her and a man named Sam Uley finds her, in the same position, in the dark woods. He takes Bella back to the crowd that’s waiting for her to be rescued. Sam tells her father that the only words from her mouth have been, “He’s gone. He’s gone,” and she has been looking around frantically looking for something that apparently wasn’t there. Charlie, Bella’s father, knew exactly what had happened! He didn’t know why Edward left, but he knew he did.

Months went by and Bella stayed in a depressed state. Her grades stayed up and she went to work, did all her household chores and did her best to look a little happier than she was; but nothing worked. So Charlie threatened to send her back to her mother in Jacksonville, Florida. How could she remember Edward in a bright, happy place like that when he was her dream in a rainy place like Forks? She wouldn’t go. She dealt with the pain; waking up every night screaming from the nightmares, memories, everything. So she made up a plan to go against what Edward had told her; to be safe and careful in Forks with him gone. She was going to make him realize that she couldn’t live without him since he wouldn’t take her word for it!

So as always, read the book and find out more if this sounds interesting. I’m not finished with the book yet so I can’t tell you more. This is absolutely the best series in history though! I love these books! They are love stories and suspenseful at the same time! I learned that you can’t stop love, no matter what the circumstances be! I recommend everyone I know who likes love stories read the Twilight series! I love them and I know you will too!

Twilight 2

In this part of the book, Bella has just met Edward’s family. He introduced her to everyone besides Rosalie, who doesn’t approve of Edward and Bella because Bella’s a human. They offered her to come to a private baseball game with them, she accepts their offer. Although she doesn’t understand why they must wait for thunder to start in the storm before they can play, she follows along. But Edward has something else for her to do before she can come. She must tell her father Charlie about her and Edward! Bella doesn’t know how Charlie will take it, but she does it anyway; and it turns out better than she thought. Charlie accepts the fact that Bella has a new ‘crush’, as he calls it.

So Bella introduces Charlie and Edward, and their off. She’s shocked when she walks outside and sees a huge Jeep with big wheels and spikes on the front, rather than Edwards’ normal shiny, silver Volvo! She goes with him anyway, and they head up the side of a mountain! He tells her the rain will stop when they get close to the clearing; and it does. They walk to the clearing and everyone else takes their place besides Esme and Bella, who sit on the sidelines and watch. Esme is the referee and starts the game. Bella watches in amazement as they hit the ball farther than ever, wisp around the field like parts of the wind, and hit each other with full force. Now, she understands why they needed thunder over the city while they played. They were so loud that you could hear them in the next state. They covered up by playing when there’s thunder.

But as the game started to end, Alice had a premonition. There were the ‘others’ coming; three of them, two males and a female. They had to hide Bella, and fast! Her scent would surely make them attack her! They did the best they could, but it was no use. The younger, fit male still smelled her and went mad with thirst! He restrained from attacking in the field, but he was on the hunt for Bella after Edward stood his ground in front of her and protected her!

The hunters name was James, he was a great hunter. And now his target was Bella, so he lured her to him. She ran from Forks to Phoenix; where she was sure James had her mom. After he called her and told her to come alone, she left Edward, Alice, and Jasper to go find and save her mother. When she got to the dance studio she attended when she was young, she saw her mom and herself on a TV screen from a home video. James was too tricky for Bella.

The rest is for you to read and find out. I doubt you’ll put the book down when you read it first! I don’t want to give away the ending again.

Twilight

This book is about a girl named Bella who lived with her mom in Phoenix, Arizona. She was moving with her dad to a place called Forks in the Olympic Peninsula of northwest Washington State.  Forks is a small town where you barely ever saw the sun. Her father, Charlie, is the sheriff in Forks and everyone has been waiting for the day that Isabella Swan would return home. So she enrolls herself into Forks High School for the time that she will be there. Her first day she meets a lot of new people and everyone is nice, but they gawk a lot.  At lunch she notices that there is a table where a perfect group of students are sitting. They have the perfect faces and bodies, like they should be models.

She keeps her eye on the youngest looking boy with bronze colored hair, Edward. She wonders what he’s like. Surely enough, as soon as she walks into biology he is there; the only open seat in the room next to him. He keeps his distance from her that day and then tries to get his schedule changed. What did she do? She finds out later that he has a dark secret. Edward Cullen is a vampire! Though she has feared these things before she is not scared of Edward. She feels safe around him and dreads the minute that he has to leave her. He can also read minds, but not Bella’s for some reason. She falls for him so fast after he apologizes for being so rude that first day. He tells her he doesn’t hate her, he just doesn’t know what to do not to lose her.

They end up becoming very good friends; and eventually, madly in love. Edward wants Bella to meet his ever so perfect family. His father, Carlisle, mother, Esme, and his brothers and sisters, Rosalie, Jasper, Emmett and Alice. She is very scared, but not of their secret. Of the fact that she loves their son and brother and does not fit in with ‘their kind’. The rest of the book is very exciting, but I don’t want to give away the rest of the ending. So read it yourself and see how good it is. I promise that you’ll love it if you love fiction and love stories!
